I am so excited to share this card and technique today using the Pop of Petal stamp set in the new Annual Catalog. This stamp set has a matching punch which is not used on this card but I love any stamp set that has a coordinating punch or framelits.
The focal part of the card is the wreath made with the stamp set and my Stamparatus. The more I use this wonderful tool, the more confident I become in my stamping. The wreath, or as some also call it the “kaleidoscope” technique, is very popular right now as one of the many uses the Stamparatus has to offer. I looked on YouTube for directions on the technique and decided to try this one using a window sheet and 4×4 inch square template. You will be able to find quite a few videos on this idea. I cut a piece of 7×7 inch window sheet and a scrap piece of 4×4 inch square.
I took a green sharpie marker and traced the scrap square onto the window sheet using my grid paper as a guide. I then turned the scrap square and traced it again.
To make the wreath, lay the window sheet onto the Stamparatus and secure with a magnet. I laid the piece of 4×4 whisper white cardstock onto the diamond shape square first. I took the floral image and placed it onto the cardstock to see where I wanted it. I would say you want the image to be at least an inch inside from the edge. Once you are happy with your placement, lay down the hinged plate and secure your stamp. Ink up the floral image and stamp. You will then turn the 4×4 piece to the next corner and stamp image again. I used rich razzleberry for the floral image.
Continue stamping all four corners and then continue with the next image you want stamped. In this case, I used the 3 flower image and stamped it with calypso coral. The next stamp I used was the leaf image in old olive. I stamped the thank you sentiment from the stamp set on a scrap piece of whisper white and punched out with the 1 1/2” circle punch and layered it with a scrap piece of old olive cardstock punched out with the 1 3/4” circle punch. I adhered the circle with dimensionals onto the center of the wreath. I cut a 2×4 inch piece of DSP from the Tea Room DSP and adhered the 4×4 whisper white piece onto the DSP so that the whole piece would have a 1/4 inch border around the cardfront.
The new rich razzleberry 1/4” velvet ribbon adds just the right touch to finish off the card. This ribbon is just dreamy??.
For the inside of the card I stamped the butterfly image in memento black ink onto a scrap piece of whisper white cardstock and colored the butterfly in with the stampin’ Blends markers. I fussy cut the butterfly and used dimensionals to adhere it to the whisper white cardstock.
I can see myself using this technique on the Stamparatus over and over again. I hope you enjoyed today’s card and I look forward to sharing my next creation.
Happy Stamping!!!
